new releases
Toward the end of January, I released a digital album called "500" which marked the occasion of my 500th release as a musician/sound artist. The album consists of 500 samples and loops selected randomly from my 40+ year archive of audio recordings (note that a few people assumed that the collection represented one sample from each of the 500 releases but that is not correct. The collection is truly random and is taken from many sorts of recordings in my archive, including previously released material, unreleased material, live recordings, field recordings, samples I've created over the years, etc.). The album can be listened to as a work of audio art in the form of a "cut-up" (shuffle play recommended). The samples and loops, being released under a Creative Commons license, can also be used in new compositions, improvisations, etc. So far, I have only been sharing this album with friends.
